Community Development Exchange (CDX): is a national, independent membership organisation for community development, building a movement through the diversity of our membership.

They believe passionately in community development and its potential to transform communities. They believe that funders and policy makers at all levels should understand community development if they are to support communities and improve community living.

Local Initiatives Fund

The Local Initiatives Fund offers an opportunity for Voluntary, Community and Faith Sector organisations to apply for funding to help deliver local and Lancashire County Council priorities.

Central Gateway Grants

Central Gateway Grants offer an opportunity for organisations to apply for strategic funding in order to help deliver Lancashire County Council's strategic priorities.
 
The scheme is currently closed for bids, however, the next round of bidding for Central Gateway for the financial year 2012/13 will commence on 15 February 2012 and an updated application pack will be made available at that time.

The Big Lottery Fund (BIG)

The Big Lottery Fund (BIG) is responsible for delivering 46 per cent of all funds raised for good causes (about 13 pence of every pound spent on a Lottery Ticket) by The National Lottery.

Since June 2004, BIG has awarded over £3.6bn to projects supporting health, education, environment and charitable purposes. Most of our funding is awarded to voluntary and community sector organisations.

They deliver funding throughout the UK, mostly through programmes tailored specifically to the needs of communities in England, Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland as well as some programmes that cover the whole UK.

BIG is a non-departmental public body sponsored by the Cabinet Office.

VSNW

(VSNW) Voluntary Sector North West is the regional voluntary sector network for the North West. The purpose of VSNW is to ensure that the voluntary and community sector (VCS), in all its diversity, takes its full part in shaping the future of the North West.

 

VSNW works with 150 members which

  • work across the region directly supporting and delivering services for individuals, or
  • are VCS infrastructure organisations (LIOs) that work with local voluntary and community groups.

 

VSNW members provide community services, regenerate neighbourhoods, support individuals, promote volunteering and tackle discrimination. The 40 generalist LIOs in membership of VSNW have a membership of 6,780 VCS groups and are in contact with 19,800 local voluntary and community sector groups in the North West – just under two-thirds (63%) of the region’s VCS groups.
